Rapido 3.1

Rapido 3.1 has been released with the following headlines:

Dynamicweb 9.6 features on Rapido 3.1:

• Focal point
  • ​We have introduced focal point on Rapido, the image handler tool now allows you to set focal points on images
• Presets in website settings
  • ​Some of the challenges in website settings is to go through all the settings, which can be time consuming. It is now possible to select some of the predfined presets of the different set ups.
  • We have created some examples under Product list tab (List, Grid and Details) & Ecommerce tab (Mini-cart). You can also create and save your own preset. 
  • We are planning to work further with this on a later Rapido release
• New Color selector (swatches)
  • A general challenge when working with colors is to remember or copy the same hex color code throughout the entire website settings. Now, you can define 5 brand colors and 5 neutral colors one time and then reuse them through the website settings.
• New Color suggestions in website settings​
  • In addition to the new color selector. If your client does not have any brand colors it is possible to select some color through our different color suggestion methods: Color pallette, color based on an image, business pallet.

Features on Rapido 3.1:

• New dynamic articles
  • ​Some of the challenges we had with the old news and blogs articles were that they were static. With the new dynamic aricles it's much easier to create content that has similar design throughout the different articles
  • There is no longer any needs for setting up the item publisher
  • Multiple design configuration available for the list pages and articles
  • Inherited design configuration on the articles
  • Customize design settings available for each particular article
  • Configurable article headers (Design: clean, banner, split & overlay)
  • On the articles you can add simple paragraphs with video link, quotes, images etc.
  • Editor optimized content creation, you can now limit the fields that should be on the particular article type.E.g. let’s say the news articles should not have an author field, then you are able to remove that field. (guide coming up soon)
  • Set sticker, search and filter on your articles
  • And much more...
• Dynamic article paragraph​
  • ​A new paragraph itemtype is avalable for publishing dynamic articles on e.g. frontpage, about page etc.
  • Settings these paragraphs up with the item publisher, is no longer needed
• ​Employee list
  • ​Make it easier for visitors to find and contact your team 
  • Use an employee list page, to show selected users from the user management area
• Cart configuration
  • Configure your mini-cart design, so it fits the type of products on your shop.
    • ​Select between the minicart options  (Dropdown / Overlay / Panel)
    • Present your products as a Table to show many products at a time. Or show the products as a List to help users visualize your product and show bigger images.
• External authentication
  • ​Be able to set up external authentication Sign in with a Facebook, Google or Twitter account
• Digital warehouse
  • ​The Digital warehouse site was not up to date with the newest Rapido. It is now sharing the same functionalities with the standard Rapido.
  • Be able to use part of the digital warehouse functionalities in a regular ecommerce shop e.g. on the product page you can show Digital assets downloads.
• Product list
  • ​​On the product list it is now possible to enable Static Variants on the product list (List, Grid, Details)
  • Enable hover effects on the product image (zoom, show alternative image) or create a border
• Show Price with/without vat
  • Be able to show price with/without vat at the same time on the product list and product page​
• Emails
  • On your custom newsletter emails, be able to select products from your shop and add it to your mail
  • You can now add the vouchers app from Dynamicweb, so you are able to send out a voucher code from your ecommerce setup.
• RMA  - Customer center
  • Use RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) in the customer center, in order to let your customers return their orders
• Manage Users (Custom)
  • Be inspired of the manage user section in the customer center, which is a custom implementation. We will work further with this feature
  • However, if you decided to work on this, you are on your own (Bugs are not supported by DW Service support)

The following areas has also improved:

• Notification overlays 
  • ​Be able to set a time threshold for how many times the overlay should appear
  • CTA when clicked don't show again
  • Include /exclude a specific group
• More extensibility points 
  • ​For the news, blogs, cases, partners, events list and article pages 
• Sticker position
  • ​Place the sticker position: upper left, lower left and lower right on product list items
• Configure spacing
  • Between the menu
  • Inner spacing in paragraphs
• Carousel 
  • ​Swipe on touch enabled devices 
  • Paging shown as dots on the carousel
• Google page speed improvements
  • We have done a lot of improvements to get better Google page speed results, including:
    • ​Enable compression
    • Eliminate most of the rendering blocking Javascript and CSS
    • Minify all Javascript
    • Prioritize visible content
    • Optmize images
    • Minify HTML
  • We should now be on the green zone on all pages (+90)
• Components (Experimental)
  • For the developers we have added the possiblity to use components from our new component packages for improved and easier implementations. When using components you get a lot of help and the design elements will be more aligned.
  • A set of final components are available and in use for all articles
    • Article header (with different design settings e.g. Banner, Overlay & Clean etc.)
    • Article paragraph
    • Article quote
    • etc.
  • A set of experimental components are available for more general use, but this must be considered experimental as we may make small changes when we are going to use them in the future.
