The Dynamicweb file manager allows you to create metafields and add metatags to files. These values can then be used in frontend.

To create folder-specific metafields:

• Click Metafields in the toolbar
• Click Add new metafield - then specify:
  • An ID
  • A label
  • An editor type, e.g. text or checkbox
• Save

To create system-wide metafields go to Settings > Control Panel > File Manager and click Edit system metafields.

Once a metafield has been created you can add metatag values to a file:

• Select one or more files
• Click metatags in the toolbar or in a context menu
• Fill in some values
• Save

Metatag values can be shown & used in frontend via e.g. a file index.
