Custom urls and language-layers

Hi,

My customer would like to use the same domain for all websites, both master website and language-layers.

At first they will be launching a B2B shop, which later will be joined by a B2C shop with another layout, so another domain, another master website and language-layers.

With a standard-setting in customized urls, each language-layer will have the ISO-code like "/en-gb" and "/de-de", but the customer wants it to be shortened to "/en" and "/de".

A quick fix would be to rename the master website and language-layers to "en" and "de" respectively, and set the customized urls to use the language-layers.
This works fine with the B2B shop, but when the B2C shop comes along, my customer will be confused, when seeing two master websites and language-layers, with similar names.

Is there another way of doing this out of the box or should I be looking at a custom url provider?

Kurt

You can use the field "Use in URL" on website settings instead:

Hi Nicolai,

Yes, thought about it too, but not as "automatic" as the custom urls, thanks :)

Edit: Sorry, Nicolai. I didn't read your answer thoroughly. It works as it should.
Thank you :)
