Google Maps GeoLocation Issues in Dynamicweb 8

Hi, I'm experiencing issues with "Get Location from api" or just getting the location for a user's address in general in dynamicweb 8.


The issue seems to be related to or is simply the same as in this thread: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/forum/cms-standard-features/cms-standard-features/fixing-google-api-keys

After installing a vanilla version of the newest dynamicweb 8, im finding that this doesnt work for me. I tried doing the fixes in the above thread (although they are meant for dw9).
 

Does anyone else have some experince on a dynamicweb8 related hotfix to this issue?
Will it get fixed in a newer version of dynamicweb8?

Unfortunately doing an upgrade to dynamicweb9 will be rather extensive, and mostly likely will not be possible.
