Hi,
We have a customer on one of the latest versions of DW, 9.7.5, and soon to be upgraded to 9.8.2. This customer creates al lot of news items, and for most of those items they upload an image. To prevent one of the editors to upload very large images he wants to use the Image Settings option on the folder where all these images get uploaded to.
The settings used are:
- Width: 800
- Height: 0
- Crop offset: keep aspect ratio
- Quality: 100
- Overwrite original: True
- Apply to subfolders: False
- No tumbnails configured
The problem is that when they set these settings on active that all the images are being resized sort of constantly, even when they already have a with of 800 or less. And the result of this constant resizing is that the image folder is no longer usable.
As soon as the settings are disabled everything is fine.
We tried activating the settings at the end of the day, so that the solution could resize the 3000+ images at night, and that seemed to work. But as soon as 1 extra image gets uploaded it starts to resize all of them again and overwrite them with an unchanged copy for the earlier resized images.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Is the re-resizing issue perhaps solved in 9.8.2?
Any tips to solve this are welcome.
Greets Hans
