Avoid spam on emails due to webcrawlers crawling text

Hi

A customer asks if it is possible to the do something to avoid webcrawlers from picking up email adresses by crawling text - resulting in a lot of unwanted spam. Is there any solution on this issue - while still maintaining a clickable email link?

Doesn´t have to be dynamicweb specific.

No smart way if you ask me - there are lots of examples if you google it, but they are complicated and will not work in the long run, and you will receive the spam anyways - so it is basically a waste of time.

What you can do is this:

  • Do not publish email adresses (do not think that would help much)
  • Buy descent email hosting. Gmail, Office 365 and most other email hosting, will remove spam with no problems. (Actually the only solution to the spam issue)
