Internal links and redirects on a single domain with multiple area IDs.

Hi DW,

Internal links from Area-ID 1 to Area-ID 2:
A question regarding a single domain on multiple area IDs.
I have a website, (www.website.com) , which needs to contain multiple area IDs.
For instance:
www.website.com/da-dk/ (Area-ID=1)
www.website.com/en-gb/ (Area-ID=2)
www.website.com/de-de/ (Area-ID=3)

Can this work with primary domains, in some way?
If not, how do I ensure internal links from Area-ID 1 to Area-ID 2, rewrite the URL the correct way? Do I need to set www.website.com/da-dk on Area-ID=1 website's domain , or how should I handle this?

Redirects:

Redirects to first page with a single domain on multiple area IDs doesnt seem to work properly

See: https://www.screencast.com/t/1NLAZ0lM4

www.website.com/da-dk/website-homepage
www.website.com/da-dk/
Both pages can be accessed, and what we need is that when we have marked redirect first page to "/" we only acces
www.website.com/da-dk/
