EasyCatalog + Dynamicweb – integration info or updated tutorials?

Hey team,

A client of ours is interested in using EasyCatalog in combination with Dynamicweb, mainly for automated product catalog. I found a webinar by Brian that covers the topic for DW9, which was helpful — but I’m wondering if there’s anything more up-to-date available?

Specifically, we’d like to better understand:

  • How to export or retrieve product data from Dynamicweb (ideally in a way EasyCatalog can consume)

  • If there are tutorials, videos, or documentation on how the integration works

  • Whether there are any modern or more affordable alternatives to EasyCatalog that work well with Dynamicweb

Any pointers, links, or experiences would be much appreciated – even partial info helps a lot.

Thanks in advance!

I don't believe there has been any further activity here, so the webinar I made several years ago (Producing Printed Catalog from Dynamicweb PIM.mp4 on Vimeo) is the latest information, but it should be sufficient to answer explain how the EasyCatalog integration works, unless EasyCatalog has done anything drastic on their side.

On the Truvio Commerce side, the key there is the cshtml feed template (attached and should be located under Files/Templates/Feeds), which though needs to be refactored for the .NET 8 runtime. You can test it as is in DW9 to see the resulting XML structure. That template was always intended as a starting point, so depending on what the client needs of information, further development of the template could become relevant.

In terms of alternatives, I don't have experience or knowledge, though our own Publications module can, of course, solve some related problems for a customer, though InDesign is naturally more polished where Publications is more rudimentary.

Feel free to write me on Teams and we can take a quick meeting if that helps.
