Page title not updating in browser when creating article from page template

Hi,

When creating an article from a page template, the new page is stuck with the template's page title.
The swift version is 1.12 and DW version is 9.14.2.

How to recreate:

In page templates, we have a template with page title "Canon cashback"

Looking at the same template page properties:

Then on a "article list page", we right click and create a new page, and select the page template.

Give it a name and open the page in a new window (here we are on the new page properties to show the settings aswell).
The new page has "Canon cashback" no matter what settings we change.

Hope you can help.

Best regards,
Mikkel Hammer

Hi Mikkel,

I can't reproduce this issue on my test solution. Can you clarify some details please:

Is the problem appears only with the "Canon cashback" template?

On the last screen, I see that you fill page Meta title - is this solves issue?

Best regards,
Vladimir

Hi Vladimir,

We're having trouble recreating on other solutions aswell.

You can test on this testing site: http://staging.goecker.dk/admin

On that site, both of these have the "Canon Cashback" as page title:

Changing Meta title on page properties does NOT fix it no :/

Looking at the @Model.Json for the page it has the Title for "Canon cashback" and the MetaTag property has not been updated aswell.
I've attached that in the article_Model_json.txt file.
Here are som snippets from it showing the problem:

It seems some of the values never get updated

Hope you can help us debug.

Hi Mikkel,

I think I found the reason for such a strange behavior of meta tags! I noticed that you have a product-catalog module on your page.
Under certain conditions, it could change the page's meta tags to the meta tags of the selected product group.
It looks like the selected group in the product catalog has the meta-information that we saw...

Please give me a test user credentials for your test site, so I can check my guess.

Best regards,
Vladimir

Hi Vladimir,

Glad to hear you're onto something!
I've sent you an email with the credentials.

Does the product-catalog handle the page title aswell? Since that doesn't get updated aswell.

Looking forward to what you find out :)

And yes, my guess was correct.
The Ttle is replaced by the product catalog module - with the name of the group '74507-at-SHOP1' (PC is set to show that group).

I will describe the case to our QA specialists so they decided about best fix of this issue.
As I see old ecom module made such thing only when groupId is exist in a current request.

Vladimir
