Extending RMA tables

Hi guys,

I need to capture additional details for RMAs and I was wondering f it's safe to extend the existing tables with new columns.

And by "safe" I mean that those columns will not be deleted by an upgrade script later on.

The alternative would be to create completely custom tables and I would like to avoid that if possible.
