CSV Integration CSV appears to be corrupt

Hej Guys,

I am trying to move some products from old shop to the new one with help of integration module on DW version 19.2.5.2 portal.

to new Shop with DW 8.1.1.7 and using Data Integration module that as I understood is the same, isn't it?

I am exporting data from old show via CSV provider, it generates CSV file that does not look close to something morten made in his presentation.

The first row does not include any definitions, it just gives all there is in the shop. When exporting I am selecting one specific group to export from. Just try for a start. Eventually I am trying to feed this CSV file to data integration module, but surely it does not want to accept it - instead I am getting CSV appears to be corrupt error... (see file attachmnt)

Than when I tryed to export export as XML file, that seamed to be OK formated, well I go to new shop data integration module, I have no XSL file that is most likely needed when importing via XML provider, well when no XSL provided, I got no fields to map.

So I am a bit stuck here, just wanted to know any suggestions, or help to find solution here.

Hello Morten,

Yes, I am trying to move products with product groups from DW 19.2.5.2 Shop (using Import/Export module)

to new shop DW 8.1.1.7 using Data Integration module.

It is obvious that CSV export from DW 19.2.5.2 does not look good, it is not close to something you have in your demo that I really like :-)

So I can feel where the problem is...

But I wanted also to know about alternatives - like XML export. XML looks nice, just to make import I must have XSL file or something like that (I guess) cause when I export as XML ---> I am trying to import it on new shop - and at the point where I must do mapping, there are no columns to choose from/to.

Any suggestions?

The Import/Export module only supports the export of products to XML. And the XML format produced is not very compatible with Data Integration.

So the fastest way is one of two:

1) Write your own activity for Import/Export that will generate the XML (or csv) you want.

2) If you do not have a partner server have Hostnordic make a backup of the "old" database. Get it up and running locally on your own pc, and set it up for DW8. Remember running update scripts. Now use Data Integration for producing an XML (or csv's if you want to) that will now match with your new solution.
