User feedback and living up to the license promise

Hi

Just got of the phone with a rather frustrated costumer. His problem was, he was not able to create a news item (an item under a folder)

They are on an express license, and the problem was they had reached a maximum of 100 pages, but not the maximum of 1.000 items.

As it is now, Dynamicweb shuts down all abilities to create new items once the max of 100 pages has been reached. Thats not good enough, because the license says 100 pages AND 1000 items. Not 1.000 items, on condition that you don´t reach the limit of pages. This must be fixed.

Also, editors don´t normally think about number of pages - therefore, some sort of clear message should appear - either on login, or in the pagetree view (or both) - to inform the editor that due to the reaching of max pages allowed in the current license, they can not create more pages.

So to sum it up - fix the issue of items allowed to not be dependent on Pages, so that we live up to the license promises, and better communication to make sure the edtior is aware of why all of a sudden, they can not create new pages.

Have a nice weekend  :)

Hi Hans

Thank you for the feedback and sorry about the bad experience for the customer and you getting the fuss on a Friday afternoon.

I have asked your account manager to contact you.

Have a nice weekend, Nicolai

No worries Nicolai

DId not mean to come across fussy, and hope that wasn´t the case :)

Hope it can be fixed regarding being allowed to create the number of items the license allows, and getting the system to give the editor an explanation if they can not create content the way they are used to :)
