Actually, you already can do that using the Campaing feature in the Settings menu. For each entry in Campaigns you get new dimension the price matrix of your products allowing you enter specific prices on specific dates.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Without the Prices, extended, I can only activate and deactivate products on certain dates with the Campaigns. Is there any other use for it?
