Reverse Deployement / Deploy sources

I would like to request the function "Deploy sources" instaed of just "deploy destinations", as there is today.

The deploy functions as it is today works like a charm for me, except at one crucial point. I cant access my development computer from outside the network. So its limited to be used internally on my computer or if i where to push som content to a remote site.

So if I where to be tasked with doing some work on an already published site, I would have to install the instance on my computer, copy the files, and then manually create all the websites, settings, areas, pages and paragraphes, or at least the ones I need to work with. This manual work could be solved if it where an option in the deploy function to connect to a remote site and get the content instead of just send.

How possible is this, to include a "Sources" option?

The alternative is to create a database export, and import it locally, but this seems like a lot of hassle...

Hi

I am very interested in getting this feature as well.

I should also add that it is very relevant in more situations, for instance when several developers are working on the same project.

If each developer creates content locally , it is quite a hell to merge that content together. Everything needs to be created manually, and that takes a lot of hours.

And yes, I am aware that we can use only one database, but this is not the proper way of doing things.

Umbraco already has this feature, and it works like a charm. It comes in very handy when working with the cloud version.

Why is it not being implemented in Dynamicweb as well ?
