Release date for each Hot FIx

Hi,

Would be really nice if in the Releases page (in the developer forum) there would be the release date against every hotfix. The main reason is when a bug is fixed in (for example) 8.8.0.10 and we upgrade a solution to 8.8.1.0 and get it back, because 8.8.1.0 was released before 8.8.0.10

Having that extra piece of information would help us determine that.

Hi,

All bug fixes are applied to the release with the highest number, e.g. 8.8.1  and to all branches down to a specific branch, e.g. 8.8.0.x (the latest hotfix for each branch).

If you experience that a fix isn't available in the hot fix for the release with the highest number, then please contact the Service Desk. Of course there can occur merge problems to each branch, but then we'll fix it.

You should always use the latest hotfix for the release that you want to upgrade to, e.g. 8.8.1.2 and not e.g. 8.8.1.0.

We don't have the release date to be automatically added to our release lists for dw8 as the other details, but I'll note it for the DW9 release list that we are currently working on.

Kind regards,

Merethe

Hi Merethe,

Right, I understand, but the thing is, we manage multiple website in multiple versions in multiple branches. Sometimes we might get a fix in 8.8.0.10 that is not available in 8.8.1.1, but in 8.8.1.3

Example:

  • Site A is in 8.8.1.1 - We experience a bug I know has been fixed, not sure when/which version
  • I need to try and replicate it on another website (or not) - when I find it, I check and it's version 8.8.0.10
  • Now I need to try to upgrade to the latest 8.8.1 hotfix and check if it's fixed in that branch
  • Problem is upgrading is not always simply and raise other issues

If I know when a specific hotfix was released I could tell just by the release dates, if I needed to upgrade it, or if it's a data issue (working with integrations that is sometimes the case, but it may be overwhelming to find the issue)

Does this make sense?
