Permissions for Anonymous users

Hi Guys,

This might be a duplicat request but I encounter its need again and I felt the need to share it.

We often see the need to be able to set permissions (either access permissions or Sales discounts allocation) to anonymous users.

Usually in B2C scenarios where you have some users with accounts and some users as guests, if you want to define a sales discount that targets only B2C customers, you don't have an easy way to do it because you can only select User groups.

The same thing happens if you want to set permissions for a paragraph or a page.

Iit would be very helpful to have something similar with the "Anonymous" option from Assortments. So far I have seen it in Permissions and Sales Assortments but it might be helpful everywhere you have something to do with permissions of any sort.

Thanks,

Adrian

Well, it does not makes much sense to me...

On pages and paragraphs, you have an "all". If you set that to allow, and add a group and set that to deny, the paragraph will disappear when logged in? Is that not what you are looking for?

As for discounts, we could add a checkbox "Only for not logged in users"?

Hi Nicolai,

My experience so far (but I might be wrong) is that the permissions are set only if you set All > Deny.

Then you decide who has access and who does not.

If it works like you said, it should be fine already.

For Sales discounts it would be enough another checkbox. I would use the same term as in the Assortments to avoid confusion, but I think this detail is not that relevant.

Thank you,

Adrian
