Mail Marketing Delivery Providers

Hello,

I opened this thread to discuss the Send Providers on Email Marketing.

Is there any particular reason why the Dynamicweb Send Provider uses the same SMTP configured for the solution? I believe there should be two distinct configurations, one for the solution and one for the email marketing just like newsletter v3 had the pickup folder configuration.

Any thoughts on this matter?

Hi Diogo

Since 99% of mails would probably be coming from email marketing you could simply use the same. Why send using 2 different SMTP servers? The reason we use the same is that it would normally not make sense to use 2 different SMTP servers....

The email sending system that is used for all mails, including email marketing, uses pickup folders if available - it does that by default, but can be disabled.
