Items - multicreation of items in itemlist

Hi,

I have a customer that has to create a lot of galleries (an item with an itemlist of other items). They would like to be able to create multiple items instead of just one at a time. When there is a file field, they would like to be able to select X (e.g. 20) files - and then the system should autogenerate 20 instances of the item. I've attached a .jpg - maybe that explaines it a bit better than this :-)

The items in the itemlist has a richtext field. It would be ok for us/our customer if fields of that type isn't included in the multicreator.

Would it be possible to do something like this?

Hi Rene

We handle feature requests app once a month, next time this thursday.

Will take this into consideration and get back with how it is prioritized.

Hi René

What if we added a "Save & New" button on the new item window? So you click "Add media" which opens the current edit window, fill in the fields and instead of save or save and close, click save & new which will add the item to the list and prepare the window for the next media.

That should give you also the possibility of using the editor and with the same amount of clicks as using the multi edit window.

Hi Nicolai,

Sounds like a solution that could save some time for the users - and it will definetely be usefull to a lot of users. That said, the most important part for our customer is that they want to be able to choose multiple images - the number of clicks to attach files to each item is the most time consuming task for them.

Would my suggestion give you more clicks than your suggestion?

I think so, but maybe we are mistunderstanding each other.

Our customer wants to multiselect let's say 20 images - and then 20 instances of the item is automatically created in the list. If they can do that by 1 click on a folder icon, 1-3 clicks in the fileacrhive (depends on how many subfoldes they have to click into) and then select all 20 images at once - then it's less clicks than clicking 20 times on a folder icon and selceting one image at a time.

In many cases, they don't need to enter in content in the richtext editor field, so it's ok that it is hidden in the multicreation list. But I can see that its pretty specific to our customer - for other cutomers it would probably make sense to have the "Save and new" and have all the fields available. I could save a lot of time as well as multiselecting images.
