I have a suggestion that would make items even more versatile and useful than now!
Working with items, I have run into a few barriers when it comes to advanced configuration of the items behavior. We run into situations where one option or choice should be able to trigger another to avoid clutter in the interface. I.e.:
In other words, the choices becomes available, depending on the previous choice. This way, we don't have to reveal all of the available (and unavailable) information to the end user at once, but gradually as they progress through the various steps.
