Free shipping - as a Discount

Hi,

I get asked this question a lot. Can we have free shipping?

I know we can set the value to be 0 if the order id over X amount, but we need a discount. Setting up Start and End date, no matter what the shipping amount (multiple fees based on country/state).

From what I can tell, we can have a discount if the user selects a shipping method, but that's not the same as setting the full amount of shipping (calculated by the shipping provider) as discount.

Hi Nuno

In 8.7 you get a shipping fee matrix that can do some of it. But it is not a discount - but you can say that if you buy this and that, and the date is x, shipping is costing y.

The problem is, that because of the stack in which we handle discounts and fees, we encounter some technical issues of implementing this as a discount.
