eCom search parameters

Hi,

Would be nice to be able to change through URL variables, SortBy, SortOrder and Number of products per page?

Would also be great to have a checkbox for "search within subgroups". Example

group A

  subgroup A1

  subgroup A2

  subgroup A3

group B

  ...

group C

  ...

Filtering the search (in the URL GroupID variable) with the GroupA id, we would also get the products from within its subgroups (A1, A2 and A3)

Best Regards,

Nuno

Ok, so these are options added to the existing ecommerce search function? Is there other options/features, that would interesting?

One of the things that come to mind is the ability to search / filter based on groups and other properties, allowing you to drill down into the products. For example, take a look here:
http://www.funda.nl/WoningAanbod/Koop/Resultaat/Default.aspx?typ=fnk&fnkv=250000&fnkt=550000&pov=1000&sob=1&er=0&ut=True
On this page you see a list of houses for sale. With the lists on the right you can narrow down the search. For example, you can click a Province name (under the heading Provincie) to narrow down to just a single province. Likewise, you can filter by type of house (Soort woonhuis), building period (Bouwperiode) and so on. Together with the number of items in each category (displayed after each filter in a pair of parentheses) this is a useful and very clear search / filter page.
IMO, this is the type of searching / filtering / navigating products that will become more and more common and important in the future. Customers want more than just a simple straight forward search box that shows them some products, They need more advanced tools to better define what they are looking for, especially in larger shops.
At the moment, I don't think this is easy to implement in DW eCom, so an "out of the box" search / filter engine would be great.
Kind regards,
Imar
