A field on an item type of type module?
You can specify on an item type that it can be used for paragraphs. If so, you can enable module attachment to that instance.
We cannot make it possible to add a module to an item type directly because modules are highly dependent on a paragraph. So if you use an item type as page properties etc, we would have to change all the modules to work in that context.
