Using different languages in different tabs is causing serious problems in Ecommerce and PIM

I don't think this is news, but it is worth looking at.

Products can be saved to a different language than is shown

I have a website with danish and swedish languages.

steps:

1:  open a product in swedish

2:  then open the same website in a different tab

3:  change the language to danish in this new tab

4: go back to the product tab, and change the text, and click save.

Now the danish version has the text entered in step 4, and the swedish version is not updated.

I see similar behaviour in Ecommerce and PIM.

This is not acceptable behaviour, and it is REALLY hard to track down :-)

DW 9.6.10, but I'm almost certain that this is a general problem across versions.

Just use 2 different browsers.

We will not make support for having 2 different languages in the same context before earliest with DW10 since that would require a complete rewrite of our backend and half the API.

That is what I told the customer.

But can you at least add a check so that I cannot click "save" on a product with the danish flag showing, so that it does not overwrite the swedish version?

That would not require a complete re-write :-)
