Smart Search sorting

Hi,

Where/How can we make use of the sorting options within a smart search (ecom)?

When we apply a smart search to a paragraph, if having the paragraph settings to none, seems to have no effect. Would make sense to have either a "Smart Search sort" option or have the "none" respect it.

Best Regards,

Nuno

Hi Nuno,

In the module settings of your product catalog paragraph you can set sort by to "user defined" under product sorting. This should respect the sorting you have specified in your smart search.

Hi Morten,

That doesn't work for me. I even tried reindexing but with no sucess. I am using 8.5.1.14

Any thoughts?

Nuno

Hi Nuno

The sort of a smart search is set on the smart search it self. When you apply the smart search to the paragraph, that sort order will be used.

Unles, you choose the "Enable optimized product retrieval" - that will make the smart search return some auto ids, go to the db and do a product list using the settings on the paragraph.

The smart search searches all products. Products are in different groups. Sorting is placed on the relation between the group and the product.

On the paragraph, where selecting the smart search, set the "Enable optimized product retrieval" and set the sorting to user defined.

That will give you all products sorted 1 in all the groups, then 2 etc.

Hi Nicolai,

I was under the impression that the "Optimize product retrieval" only acted when loading a product, not a product list. Good to know now.

Disabling the checkbox allowed me to control the order, thanks.

Best Regards,

Nuno
