Shop field in the product detail page

Dear Sir,

May I know how the shop field works on the product page? I found the definition from the document site. But, not clearly understand. I will be appreciated if you can explain more details. Thanks.

Hi Phu

It is used for finding Stock level, stock states and images. If a product is member of 2 different groups that are in 2 different shops, this one can be used to control in which shop context the stock should be handled or which image pattern to use.

The value is almost deprecated - you would normally not have any use for it.
