Shipping fee rules

Hi,

I want to setup shipping fee rules for users according their zip codes. There is a similar queston on https://doc.dynamicweb.com/forum/ecommerce-standard-features/ecommerce-standard-features/shipping-methods-not-filtered-by-regions

At one hand, I created two country regions but the rule is not working, neither settng that region ID in the user data nor in his additional address. Please see attached images. Am I missing something?

At the other hand, the rules allow to select a user group (but not "Smart searches" groups, only standard groups). This way, an alternative would be to create a standard user group and update it automatically with a scheduled task. Is there a better alternative?

Hi,

not reproduced using simple design with cart template allows to select country region for anonymous/logged in user on last DW9.13.5. Please, have a look at the video regarding the check.

Got it!

There are some issues with the rules when modifying the data at the backend, that was the problem. Specifically:

  • The user data at the cart is not updated modifying those data at the backend. It is updated when modifying the data at the frontend (as you do at the video) but not from the backend.
  • In the country settings, the default shipping method is auto-assigned to None after you inactive the selected shipping method at the shipping settings. This way, selecdted method is not working when you activate it again.
  • At certain point, the Country field dissapeared from the settings of the user (see image attached). Only for the user I was testing, the other users display the Country. I don't know exactly how/when this happened.

You may mail me if you need more info or test them at the solution.
