Shipping fee matrix

Hi guys,

I have a situation where I need to configure a shipping Matrix fee.

Meaning that the shipping cost would be different for different quantity thresholds.

I have a couple of quantity thresholds and they range from 100 to 100 kg. The quantity on the order is calculated properly but no matter how I configure the fees, it always takes the highest fee regardless of the quantity threshold.

I am running out of ideas and scenarios for the configuration.

This is an overview of my settings:

And this is how it looks on the interval 100 to 200 kg:

For order value I had to add 0.1 to make it even trigger, otherwise the rule is completely ignored:

My cart has 125kg on the order, and I get the highest rate (60 EUR) instead of the appropriate rate (40EUR):

The value I have entered for weight is the maximum weight the fee applies to.

I am running on DW 9.9.6.

I will appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you,

Adrian

Volume is not quantity.

Volume is how many cubic meters (or whatever measurement you use) a product is taking up on i.e. a pallet.

If you want volume to act like quantity, you can set volume to 1 on all products.

Hi Nicolai,

Thank you for the response.

I am not using the volume as a quantity.

My threshold is on weight and in some cases volume which I agree is in cubic meters. For some products they have volume set on products, for other products there is no volume set. That's why the rule is set to use either weight or volume when deciding which fee is applying.

In order to test if volume has any impact in my case, I have set volume to 0 to all fees but I got the same outcome.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you,
Adrian

Sorry, my misunderstanding. You wrote quantity threshold so I thought you mixed things up :-).

So you have set the fee to take the highest applicable.

So if the order weight is 125 kg, then all fee lines above 100 kg are applicable and it takes the highest? So what happens if you change that setting on the shipping method to take the lowest?

Hi Nicolai,

I have tried both approaches (highest and lowest) and the result is always wrong. It is taken either the lowest of all, or the highest of all, just like the quantity set on the fee would be ignored.

I could never make it take the right fee for the quantity.

Hi Adrian,

First of all, your matrix rules have the both values in weight and volume limits (at least for rules output 40 and 60 fees) but you did not say about volume in the product used in your test. Perhaps, it has an volume does not fit to specific threshold in the rules. Secondly, you use very old version of admin. There were shipping issues already fixed on next versions, e.g. last issue was fixed on DW9.12.0 and up. I've checked the feature with simple scenarios on last DW9.12.3 and have valid results in my view.

Hi Oleg,

The volume on my test product is 0.

I have tested both with and without volume settings on the Fees. No change.

I have tried both with "Either.." and "Both..." for the combination of Weight and Volume.

I understand that I have an old version of the Admin (9.9.x) but this functionality was supposed to work even back then. The fees matrix is not a new feature. It has been there since DW 8.x.x.

My worry is that my configuration is not right and that's what I am trying to figure out.

Thank you,
Adrian
