Search Index does not override excisting index

Hi

We have a problem with updating the search index from one of our customers.

When calling the update of index mannualy or automatically, it builds new correct indexfiles. They are visible in the "Backup" folder. (see attachment)
The problem is that only a part of the files in the "Index" folder is overwritten, so the index is corrupt/incomplete for the shop.

We have to copy the files manually to the "Index" folder to get a full new index. We are using the almost newest version of 8.3 (8.3.1.17)

Could we solve this somewhere in our settings?

Recently updated the core to DW 8.4.0.8, still the same problem.

This wasn't a problem as long as it was running on DW 7+, it started after updating to DW 8.

No one knows what it can be?

Hi Martjin,

We have the same problem, and 8.4.0.15 should fix this problem, but unfortunately it is not fixed yet.

It seems to be a problem with open/static references to the index files in the code, which causes the copy function fail, so we are very much looking forward to a solution for this.

Hi Anders

Thanks for your reply, I'm glad we're not the only one facing this problem.
Do you know if it's already posted back to DW with bugnumber 14608? Are they aware that the problem is still there?

Hi Martijn,

The latest version of Dw 8.4.0.19 is actually solving this problem for us! :-) But you should remember to add this setting: IndexingBackupSwitch to your globalsetting file

Hi Anders

We are running it now on a live site, but it's not solved for us yet.

I have added the IndexingBackupSwitch to the global settings, but what are the correct and allowed values for this?

Hi Martijn,

Are you accessing the index with the api or is it all standard code? It should be: True/False, and for you I think it should be "True".

Best regards, Anders

Hi Anders

The index is accessed by the URL, it's sceduled every night after the synchronisation with the company.
We have added the True value and it runs as desired now.

Thank you very mutch for your support!
