RE: Default shop on eCommerce group

Hi,

Is there a way to assign a default shop to a eCommerce group and have all products inherit the assigned shop to a group? Also, all product added to the group should have the default shop assigned allready (after that was done on a group level). The feature already works for product category, VAT gorup, manufacturer and stock status.

Hi Adnan

No, that does not exist. For what do you need it? That setting is usually set in integration scenarios where it is used to see from which company in the ERP the data is coming from if the integration is with more than one ERP/companies.

Hi Nikolai,

Thanx for your response.
The system we are currently building will work with an ERP the other way around. The ERP will be updated with products (and its properties) form DW.

Nevertheless, I just needed confirmamtion that the fature does not exist, it is fine, customer will be assinging a shop to each product manually for now :).

Do you think it is a good idea to create a trigger on a database level and have it assign appropriate shop to each insert and update of the row in EcomProducts table?

This will be simple, as there is only one shop, but since the DW is the main point of product entries, one field down to select is performance improvement for an eCommerce operator.

Hi Adnan

That explains. I think it would be fine with the trigger. Better than having editors remember!
