Price matrix and discounts

I've imported prices into the prices matrix. https://www.screencast.com/t/63FTPfCX  - I thought I could specify a general price "Alle varianter" which would show up on product lists, but it seems this price has higher priority than the prices specified for each variant. This means when I change variant, using the dropdown on the product page, the price is the same for all variants.

I then changed the price for "Alle varianter" to informative price and changed the template tag in product lists to "Ecom:Product.InformativePrice.Price". It seems to work know - the product lists displays the text: "From 100 EUR..." and I'm able to change the price on the product page using the variant-dropdown.

The issues is that when I add a discount - the informative price on product lists doesn't change - it still says "From 100 EUR". But on the product page the price is correct and I'm able to print the old and the new discount price.

How can I display the discount on product lists using the price matrix?

You can probably use the pricematrix as now and define a default variant combination. And set the cheapest as the default. Or use the lowest price of your variants on the price field on the main product (instead of having it as informative in the matrix)

Hi Nicolai

How do I set the default price in the price matrix?

I'm not able use the price on the main product, because the shop default currency is DKK, while this price is in EUR. I would have to use just one exchange rate for all products, which is not possible (see my last thread http://doc.dynamicweb.com/forum/ecommerce-standard-features/standard-currency-and-importing-prices?PID=1605)

Not default price, but default variant. You set that on the variant tab.

Oh, right.

There's already a default variant - but the price on product lists was still showing the price of the main product. But I remembered there's an option to display the default variant on product lists: https://www.screencast.com/t/fIt6Vp1umzeX - So, I had to mark this one and it seems to work.

Now, I'm just not sure if this will cause some issues elsewhere on the shop - guess I'll have to investigate.

Well obviously I'm now also getting the default variant name on product lists - not just the price. The variant name isn't as clean as the name of main product.

So it seems that I can either have a not-so-clean product name with correct price - or I can have a clean product name with a price that doesn't include discount.

On the main product, using the regular price field for the cheapest variant - will that not work?
