Possible assortment bug in 8.8.x.x branch?

Hi Guys,

I am encountering a pretty weird situation with assortments.

For some reason that I don't get, the assortment navigation does not hide the categories without products although this is how it is supposed to work (according to my knowledge).

Does anyone know about any assortment related bug in 8.8.xx branch?

I have noticed the problem in 8.8.0.1. Then I upgraded to 8.8.1.6 (hoping it's gonna be solved) without any change in behavior.

One thing I also noticed pretty weird is the ProductCount node on the navigation XML is always 0 although I have checked the "Include Product Count" option for navigation settings.

All indexing ran without issues. I am using the regular index (old one) for products and the new one for search. Can this be an issue?

Thanks,

Adrian

Hi Adrian

On the ecommerce navigation setup on the page properties, you should make sure it uses assortmentnavigation provider.

You should not mix the indexes - do not know how that works.

On the new index, you have a macro you can use to limit search results to the assortment currently on the user.

Hi Nicolai,

I am using the Assortment Navigation Provider.

The product list is rendered correctly. The user cannot see the products it is not allowed to.

The only problem is the navigation. I have some categories and subcategories showing in navigation but when the user accesses the link, there are no products available.

Pretty weird.

Yes, but with a combination of 2 indexes etc. it can be difficult to tell where the error is. You could also have users that have more than one assortment making it even more difficult to figure out.

If you create a simple example with 2 products in 2 groups, and make an assortment with just one product, create a user that will have ONLY this assortment, and see what groups shows up...
