Hi Guys,

Is there any way I can extend the Order Discounts section?

I know we use to be able to do that for Sales Discounts but I understand that Sales Discounts is deprecated and we should advise our customers to only use Order Discounts.

Any alternative method for adding my own discount logic while still giving the admins a way to add paramters to discounts (products, conditions etc)?

Hi Adrian

You cannot extend order discounts - it is kind of an advanced Sales Discount provider. Sales discount are not deprecated - it is just not recommended to use both at the same time hence it can be difficult for the editor (or someone else) to deal with.

Another difference is that the handling of which discount should be applied for either one of them is handled individually, so if you get a discount for a product from order discounts and sales discount, you cannot use the logic to filter out one of them - both will be applied.
