Friendly URL's in multiple languages

Hi Guys,

I have a multi website/multi-language project and I am experiencing some issues with friendly URL's.

I have the following case:

First website:

http://mbt.dotfusion.ro/sg/catalog/men-dress

Second website

http://mbt.dotfusion.ro/it-it/catalog/mens-dress-1

Each website has a different shop.

Any ideea? Do I need to configure something special in the friendly URL settings?

Thanks,

Adrian

Usually you'd be able to do this using the "Ensure unique paths for each area" setting in Customized urls, but since you don't have unique domains this will not work.

Dynamicweb has to add enough unique information to the customized url to be able to compute the real url and this is why the "-1" is added when multiple products share the same name.

Rather than having Dynamicweb automatically add numbers to the urls, you can check the "Ecommerce > Include product ID in product URL" setting to include the product id in the customized url to make sure that it's unique. I know this is not exactly what you want, but it's the best we can do right now.

Best regards,
Mikkel

Thanks Mikkel,

It is surely not enough since the products have the same product number in every language.

It's strange that this is the first case with such behavior so far. I suppose if you have had a similar case before, you would have found a solution.

In my opinion the problem is that the friendly URL only takes into consideration the group/subgroup/product path instead of the whole path. Other wise the localization difference would have been enough (it-en vs en-us).

Can you take this into consideration and think of a solution? Maybe something particular for this case?

Thanks,

Adrian
