Facet options reduced following form submit

Hello everyone,

We've been working with the DynamicWeb platform for the past month so are pretty new to it - this is our first post on the forum.

We're trying to implement product filtering using Facets and have come across an issue that we're looking for help with:

  1. We have an e-commerce top-level group in a dropdown list with options e.g. "Group1", "Group2", "Group3". With no filter applied, all of the products show.
  2. If you select "Group1" and submit the form, then only products in "Group1" are returned and displayed - great smiley
  3. However, with this Facet search applied and the products filtered, now the dropdown list of options only shows "Group1" sad. What we really want is for all of the options to show in the dropdown, so that you can perform another search e.g. on "Group2".

Do any of you have advice? Please let us know if you need to see any screenshots of configuration or specific code snippets.

Hi Steve

Welcome to the forums, and welcome to Dynamicweb!

It sounds like you made the groups as a facet? If you do, and you also have another facet, i.e. Color, and you filter by all "green" products using the color facet, the groups facet will only show groups that have green products in them. That is controlled by the "Show facet options with no results" checkbox of the catalog app. See screendump.

See if that one does the trick.

Otherwise we need a couple of screenshots of your setup and how it looks in your frontend.
