Ecommerce - URL/Link to product edit page in DW Administration?

Feature reqeust

Hi fellow DW Partners / DW.

Since we started doing more and more dataintegration with/for our customers, it come to our attention that the below described feature could be nice for us(our customers) to have:

A direct link to product edit page, that is a link that would lead the user to the edit page in Dynamicweb Administration, for at specific product in the productcatalogue.

The reason for this is that, although we would like our customers product-datasource (like NAV/Dynamics/C5) to maintain/contain all content, that source does not support creating/managing rich texts, which is often used for product descriptions.
It would be great for the customers product-datasource konsultants to be able to insert a button/link to DW, just appending the product_number or product_id to the querystring, and then our common customer can easily go a edit that specific product in Dynamicweb, through the linke in their product-datasource-manager-application(like NAV/Dynamics/C5).

This would require the user to be signed in to DW administration, although the user wouldn't be in most cases, so it would be great if DW could redirect to signin page, with a redirect path(in querystring). Then after the user is signed in, then they will be redirected to the admin-product-edit-page.

./Like or vote up if you think this could be a useful feature. - Or write why it isn't.

Hi Finn,

You're better off posting in the Feature Requests forum category, as that's monitired for these type of requests.

That said: I like the idea, but I would like to see it in a broader context with an option to target more areas in the backend directly. For example, opening an Order in Edit mode (so you can capture) from an existing system, or the User Details screen in User Management would be very useful too.

If you repost in the Feature Requests category I'll add my vote.

Cheers,

Imar
