Display type in FieldTypeProvider

Hi guys

I am working with the FieldTypeProviders whitch are really cool, but i cannot figure out what the display type setting does. It does not seem to make any difference wheter it is set to multi line or single line when i render the field in the frontend.

Can anybody tell me what that setting is meant for?

Hi,

The feature does not affect frontend but only displaying of fields based on the types (in product edit forms) and in definition of the fields in backend. Here is the feature definition: "It should be possible to decide if the field should be shown as a normal TextBox or a TextArea".
