Convert product fields to product category fields

Is it possible to convert or move or convert product fields to product category fields, so that we can configure product groups so that you only see relevant product fields for certain product groups?

Hi Hans

There is no such built in tool - would be awesome though.

You can export your data, create new fields with the same names but in a category, delete the custom fields, and then import the data to your category fields.
