B2B and B2C website

Hi,

We need to create a B2B and B2C website and according to VAT Regularing in the European Union, we should not charge VAT for businesses.

We have this problem with 2 or 3 clients now and I want to find the best approach until VAT is available in the Price Matrix (http://developer.dynamicweb-cms.com/forum/feature-requests/vat-on-price-matrix.aspx) and avoiding Custom developing a VAT Provider (http://developer.dynamicweb-cms.com/forum/development/tax-provider-or-price-provider.aspx)

Does Dynamicweb have a standard way of dealing with this in 8.4.0?

Hi Nuno

There are these VAT setting in Dynamicweb

1) System or Global VAT

2) Country VAT

3) VAT Groups

I think you could use the VAT Groups option here.

Notice that there are no plans to add the VAT function to the Price Matrix
(http://developer.dynamicweb-cms.com/forum/feature-requests/vat-on-price-matrix.aspx)

Hi Kristian,

These are not a "real" option to this issue.

Imagine the user is anonymous and starts putting products in the cart. The system normally assigns VAT, but when he authenticates, Dynamicweb recognizes that profile as an international company and therefore has to set the VAT Group (basically the VAT) to 0%.

The settings you describe don't update the VAT according to the user's profile.

Any other ideas, or am I missing something?

Nuno
