Assortments, limited product range for some users.

Hi

I need to be able to have assortments in my shop. Some customers only should be able to see a limited range of products when logged in. All others should see all products.

I have so far followed the instructions at: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/ecommerce/product-catalog/product-catalog#sideNavTitle1-3

I have created and activated an assortment, added prdoucts and users / groups. I have rebuilt both the assortment and the index, and activatet assortements in frontend.

But when I log in as the user all products still show up in the product catalog.  Is there a step I'm missing?

Do i need to make edits in my code ?

Something weird happens as well, where my VaraintCombinations loop on product all of sudden is empty?

Hi Bjørn,

 

You should't have to change anything in the code. Sounds like a configuration issue:

  • Are the Assortments properly configured?
  • Did you rebuild the Assortments?
  • Are you trying this on the same browser window as the backend and/or other users where some cache or cookies could impact your tests?

 

It's hard to say what might be wrong without knowing more.
