Unable to open product index in admin after upgrade to 9.6.2

A username/password dialog appears when I try to open a product index in DW admin. This started to happen after I upgraded DW from 9.3.8 to 9.6.2.

Hi Espen,

Have you enabled 'Basic Authentication' for your website in the IIS? This could be what is causing this problem.

Best regards,

Steffen

Hi Steffen.

See attached screnshot for IIS settings.

No changes has been made in IIS when upgrading DW from 9.3.8 to 9.6.2 (other than changing the folder that the virtual Admin folder points to).

Did you add the default web.config from Dynamicweb? And do you have custom global.asax file?

Both web.config and global.asax are from Dynamicweb 9.6.2. No custom files.

We have seen this before - I just cannot find the solution. It is some kind of iis setting or similar.

Is this a iis 7? And have you tried creating a new website?

Hi Espen,

Did you remember to clear your browser cache after upgrade?

You can easily verify if this is a cache issue by opening Chrome, hit F12, select "Disable cache" on the network tab, go to /admin of the site and navigate to the repository again.
Do you still get prompted for username and password?

Best regards,
Morten

I have not reset the browser cache, but now it just works. I suspect that browser caching was the problem....

Anyway, problem automagically solved.

Best regards,

Espen
