Page permissions for items in a named itemlist

Hi

I have a named itemlist on a page. Page permissions on this page is set as: "Show this page in menu" is set to "For all users". Then no items from the named itemlist on the page is rendered in the frontend. Is this by design?
The items in the named itemlist is rendered on the frontend using a RenderItemList statement.

Don't answer this question. I was missing the item from the named itemlist because the items are used as items in a menu published in the menu using the RenderItemList statement. But of course the items from a named itemlist is not published by RenderItemList if the page where the named itemlist is placed is restricted by permission.
