Updating Dynamicweb solution

Reply
When the update process runs on a Dynamicweb solution without eCom, the process tries to update an eCom solution too, even if there is no eCom solution installed. In the updatelog.html file I can see that the process tries to update eCom tables in the database (these tables are not in my database) and eCom related directories are created in the filearchive!!
Is it possible to avoid this updating? It's quite anoying.

I suppose you could delete the contents of /Admin/Update/ecom.xml, but I haven't tried this myself. But you would have to do this each time the solution is updated.

When updating the application, all modules are updated. If we need to install a new module at a later stage, we don't need to worry about the files and databases associated with this module. Ecom is a bit different than regular modules, as it's database is installed separately and therefore cannot be assumed to exist on the solution. However Dynamicweb tries to update the databases anyway as this process is the same as for all other modules.
