do i have to put in the data source on file GlobalSettings.aspx the full ip address of the sql server or not because i cant see the site running!!???

In global settings simply add the name or the ip of the SQL-Server in Database/SQLServer node. That is probably what you have done.

If you can access /Admin everything is fine.

If the frontend is not displaying anything, it sounds like you are missing templates. This will happen if you install the virtual directory /Files with the wrong path. Please check that.

Nicoloai i can tell you the steps that i have make i put the file on this path

 

1 C:\dynamic web\piraeus\web

2 .sql sever restore Database

3. new user login on security

4 .to files\globalsettings  and i change the name of sql and user an password

 

In IIS

1 . new website piraeus path c:\dynamicweb\piraeus\web

2. virtual directory for database c:\dynamicweb\piraeus\web\database

3. virtual directory for files c:\dynamicweb\piraeus\web\files

 

an i have done all the properties for each of them

 

that's all but i still see a blank page!!

 

p.s the templates are ok!!

I don't see why you should just get an empty screen. It should either display an error or some browser information, like 404 not found.

Have you unchecked "Show friendly http errors" in Internet Options -> Advanced tab in Internet Explorer?

What hostname do you use for accessing the website?

What is the homedirectory?

but i still can see what is the error!!!
the client doesn't have a partion in his hard disk maybe this is the problem???

You can't install Dynamicweb in a Virtual application folder. Has to be the root of a website.

the address  was wrong i was trying to show you the problem !!!  But the Dynamic web is just you say root of the website!!
