Is the Variant provider in DW?

Hej guys,

I have yet another eCom that has no variants presetup, and just works with standard eCom products.

At the same time, there is a server somwehere that can send me some metadata about certain product.

After I receive all that data, can I somehow set variant information for this product on the fly?

Simmilar to "Price provider", when you can over-write price, can I do something simmilar with Variants?

I saw "Dynamicweb.Notifications.eCommerce.VariantList.BeforeRender" but do you have to have Variants presetup on the solution in order for this one to work?

Thoughts/suggestions?

Hi Dmitrij

No variant provider. You cannot show variants on-the-fly. Unless you create them on the database just before you render a product.

You can make a product template extender that will render some information from the external system. That will work fine, but give you problems if you want to add those variants to the cart.

Then you need the variants in the database
