How to Index all products in ecom

Hi

How do I index all products in ecom even if no changes have been made?

If i click update should all products be updated?

In management center, system, searching. The button option have an update. That should update the entire index....

The thing is if I do a partial update it works fine but when I press the update something goes wrong but the log says nothing. And no products exists in the index.
