Enable searching in news

Hi,

We're using the News v2 module, is it possible to include news items in search results? (Example on site: I want to get news items listed here in addition to pages: http://www.dof.no/en-GB/Search-page.aspx?q=subsea+7)

I saw a similar thread on the forums which may have the answer, but seems like the link is dead:

There is a setting on the search module for enabling search in news - http://manual.dynamicweb-cms.com/Default.aspx?ID=1544

In older versions of DW I think it was necessary to enable the old "News" (v1) module in order to make it work, but thats not required anymore.

Thanks Morten!

News is not in the list of available items in the 'Search in' options in my search module. Could that imply that the DW version we're running doesn't support it?

We're running on version 8.2.1.3

Did you try to enable both "News" and "News v2" module?

Hi Joakim

You might not have Newsv1 installed - that activates news searching in older versions as Morten indicates.

It was the lack of newsv1. I installed the module - so now you can configure news search.
