Differ prices on variant or pricematrix?

How do i differ pricing on variants?

I was told by helpdesk that I needed to have the pricing extended module and the variants extended module.

I activated both in the database but I cant select variants under product->prices?

I also saw in the code that there is a pricematrix object that can be coupled to a product.

Where does the price matrix fit in, in the product? Where can it be viewed in the ecom product admin?

hope my questions arent too confusing.

If you modified the database directly, please log off/log on in order to reload you security settings.

There are two types of variants. When you first check a variant and save, the data for this variant will be similar to the main product extept for the variant definition. When clicking the icon next to the variant in the variant matrix, you'll load the variant allowing you to modify details - including price - for this particular variant and save those explicitly. If you only have variants thac you created this way, you'll have no option to differentiate the prices through the Prices tab on the product editin g screen. However, if you have variants created following the first procedure, left select box on the Prices tab should display Variants. Double click variants and save to products, then when the screen reloads you'll have the opportunity to set the price of individual variants.

Okay I can get the variants in the left select box by saving the price on one variant and afterwards saving the product.

So far so good, but no matter what variant i change the price on, alle the prices change(?)

I dont know if im completely missing the point, but I thought that having the Pricing extended and the Variants Extended allowed me to have different prices for each variant?

I cant figure out how to differ the prices on variants programatically.

when I do it from the backend it seems a bit random when variants are available for differentiating if i move flerstkpriser back and forth a couple of times it appears at some point and I can enter prices for each variant.

I dont know if itst a bug or what...

I want to achieve what I displayed on the image, programatically but its close to impossible to figure out what needs to be set in the database.

When I enter the prices tab and variants is in the right select box and displayed below, it has to be possible to set this somewhere in the database.

what values determines if a product can be differerantiated on prices?

please help im getting kind of desperate here...
