Comments Antispam

Hello,

We have a dynamic article list blog on our solution (9.13.8) that utilizes a comments form on each post. We have had ongoing issues with spam coming through our forms, and have integrated CloudFlare Turnstile into our form submission logic to help mitigate this. DW antispam functionality is activated for forms and users, but not comments. On the other forms, the DW antispam functionality + Turnstile has worked exceptionally well at blocking spam. For the comments form, Turnstile alone doesn't seem to be properly blocking spam. My theory is that too many bypass tools specifically written for Turnstile exist these days, so it's not enough on it's own.

I saw in this post: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/forum/dynamicweb-10/dynamicweb-10/comments-module-implementation-question that comment antispam doesn't work unless the comments are attached to a product catalog module. Since this is not the way our comments are set up, enabling comment antispam results in a 404 upon comment submission.

I'm wondering if anyone has a solution for this, or if there's a possible bugfix for it on the horizon. Unfortunately, removing the comment form on the blog is not an option for our organization.

Kind regards,

Ben Leake

Hi Ben

First of all you have to enable the antispam for comments.

Secondly you need to render your comment form in a way that includes the antispam fields - e.g. using tag "Comment.FormStart", "Comment.OnSubmit", "Comment.SpamScript" and "Comment.FormHidden"

These fields and scripts is what runs the antispam script.
