Change of articlenumber

I understand that the way the description and imagefields are preserved is that a copy of the product table is made, then the products are deleted and imported. After that the description and image fileds are restored from the copy.

What happendns if the productnumber is changed in NAV. It looks like the productid is generated from the productnumber.

And if the productid gets changed then the description and image fields should not be possible to get restored because the productid has changed.

Maybe I got it all wrong, I'm just curious

Hi Aki,

If you change the product number - and thereby giving it another ProductID - then it will result in the original being deleted. Because it will be considered another product (since ProductID+LanguageID+VariantID is the composite key of a product). We have no knowledge that you're arriving with the same product with a new ID.
