ADSI configuration

Reply

We have can't get Active Directory Groups showing up in the Security pane under "Edit page".

We have configured ADSI settings inside /Files/GlobalSettings.aspx like:

      example.local

      Username

      p@ssw0rd

The Username we provide is currently member of "Domain Admins" shouldn't that be enough?

are there any other settings we have missed or are we doing something wrong with the above?

Hi Kevin

You actually dont need the username and password. Of course the webserver you are hosting on should be a member of the domain. It is also very important that you have the entire domain name specified - tld important.

Do you have a link you can mail me?

Mh everything as you said, but then I tried to track back from the last time I made it work. And there was something about having the "Extended User"-module is not compatible with ActiveDirectory integration. Så i scanned the globalsettings.aspx file for some setting and found THE ONE:

True

This has to be

False

Then everythings works perfectly.

But couldn't this setting be made available from the Control Panel ?

Hi Kevin

You are right - forgot about the extended user manager has to be false.

It can actually be set in Kontrolpanel - Extranet/Intranet.

Ran into a new problem. When i set a page to only allow a certain AD group and i got to that page, i can see it, and im NOT a member of the specified group, so i shouldn't see the page. Some configurations i'm missing or dosen't the AD security integration work as it should?
